Jeff Ross is the kind of comedian who, by his own description, gets his kicks from bringing humor to places where there traditionally isn’t any. Hospitals. War Zones. And for the purpose of his Comedy Central special, airing Saturday night, the Brazos County Jail in Bryan, Texas.
“I wanted to do something different and more purposeful,” Ross tells Mashable of his nontraditional roast. “I wanted to talk about prison reform and recidivism and the things that are going on in jails, but I knew for it to be funny I’d have to have human beings. So I thought, ‘I won’t film it in a studio, I’ll go right to it and try to get inside a prison or a jail and roast the incarcerated right to their faces.'” Read more…
